Historic Basilica, also known as the Old Basilica (Basílica Velha de Aparecida do Norte), and the first sanctuary of Our Lady of Aparecida, situated in the city of Aparecida, São Paulo State, Brazil. Inaugurated in 1888, this was Brazil`s first basilica, a title granted by the Vatican in 1919. Until 1982, the temple housed the holy statue of Our Lady of Aparecida, Brazil`s patroness.
